Events, TechMatch Bratislava and the MIT EF (MIT Enterprise Forum) Start Smart were 2 events that we spent time @ and both were well put together and very rewarding.
TechMatch
fades into the books, but left a lasting impression. Many lessons to be
learned, with more great contacts made.
We want to offer a big thanks to GiGi for pushing the Greek startup
presence, as well as her very well honed knowledge of pitching, getting the
point across, and driving home the points that turn a good pitch into a great
one.
Hearing Guy
Kawasaki talk about the lesson he learned from Steve, and listening to many of
the Silicon Valley big wigs talk about what they look for, what they are hoping
to see, and what they really don’t want to know about your startup. Brought a lot of points of view into focus,
yes they all have their own flavor, some even contridect each other, but in the
whole scheme of it. They all have seen hundreds if not thousands of great
ideas, that wouldn’t make good business.
This is a lesson, it’s not just good enouf to have the great idea, nor
the next big thing, if you can’t get the person across the conversation to
understand it, believe in it, and in the end, invest in it.
Again big
thanks to the guys from USMarket Access.
A job well done! and a GREAT learning experience for those of us new to pitching our business ideas.
MIT EF Start Smart
Concluding the year of the MIT EF with a great event featuring the finalists, and bridging the new batch of young entrepreneurs who will benefit from the great knowledge shared in the MIT EF environment. Big thanks again to the team for the MIT EF Greece, for their efforts, lots and lots of hours of work, and a great stepping stone in the processes of a growing startup culture in Greece.
